DIXON, CA : Dixon car crash kills 1 on Sunday, March 19th 2017

A crash Sunday morning in Dixon left one person dead, according to authorities.

The Dixon Police Department, Dixon Fire Department and California Highway Patrol responded at around 9:34 a.m. to a crash near Interstate 80 on Dixon Avenue West, where a Honda Civic had hit a utility poll.

A 61-year old man was traveling northbound on Dixon Avenue and turned left for an unknown reason and a utility pole, according CHP spokesman Officer David Harvey. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and it was not yet known if drugs or alcohol were involved, Harvey said.

No one else was injured. The man’s name was not released.

The CHP asks anyone with information about the crash to call CHP at 428-2100.
