Lima, OH : Six people injured in 3-vehicle crash on Ohio 81 at Thayer Road on Thursday morning, August 18, 2016
Six people, including two Ada residents, were injured Thursday morning in a three-vehicle crash on Ohio 81 at Thayer Road, east of Lima, the Lima post of the State Highway Patrol reported.
The driver of one car, Rachel Perez, 28, and her children who were in the back seat of her vehicle, Janell Perez, 12, Marcelino Sanchez, 10, and Priana Sanchez, 9, all of Columbus, were transported to Lima Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the patrol said.
Priana Sanchez was ejected from the car during the crash, according to the patrol.
The driver of a second vehicle, Heather Rowe, 22, and her passenger, Tammy Rowe, 51, both of Ada, were also transported to Lima Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the patrol said.
Courtney Stites, 24, of Lima, the driver of the third car, and her passenger, Justin Paul, 21, of Bluffton, were not injured, according to the patrol.
Rachel Perez was southbound on Thayer Road in a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville about 11:12 a.m. Thursday when she failed to yield from a stop sign at the Ohio 81 intersection, the patrol reported.
The Pontiac was struck by Heather Rowe’s 2010 Ford Edge, which was eastbound on Ohio 81, according to the patrol.
The Pontiac then struck a 2008 Honda Accord driven by Stites, which was stopped on the south side of the intersection, according to the patrol.
The crash remains under investigation.
Assisting at the accident scene were Bath Fire and Emergency Medical Service, Lafayette-Jackson Emergency Medical Service, Blakes Towing and Minich Towing.
