Gilford, N.H : Laconia Bypass reopened after fatal motorcycle crash on Friday, June 17, 2016

The Laconia Bypass was closed for hours Friday after a fatal motorcycle crash.

The driver of the car involved in the crash was not hurt.

Police say it happened at about 4:18 p.m. on the Route 3/11 bypass.

They say the motorcycle was heading south and hit a car traveling northhead-on.

The man on the bike was pronounced dead at the scene.

The bypass was closed for about six hours while police investigated the crash.

The victim's name is not being released until police can notify his family.

Police said they are withholding additional information about the case until the investigation is complete.
