Portage, WI : Two people died in double-fatal Columbia County crash on Sunday, June 5, 2016

A man and a woman who died in a crash on county Highway F north of Portage in Columbia County on Sunday evening were identified Monday as Patrick S. Shier, 37, and Angela M. Larson, 34, both of Portage.

The two were traveling southbound about 5:30 p.m. Sunday when the Mercury Sable rolled across the two-lane highway and hit several trees, according to a Columbia County Sheriff's Office report.

The driver was speeding when he overcorrected a shift into the highway's west shoulder, the report says. Both were wearing seat belts and alcohol appeared to be a factor.

The Sheriff's Office and county medical examiner are investigating the crash.
