Abilene, KS : Mission man killed in traffic crash on I-70 in central Kansas on Sunday morning, April 24, 2016

A 69-year-old Mission man was killed in a Sunday morning traffic crash in central Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said that Larry J. Velasquez was driving east on Interstate 70 near Abilene just after 7 a.m. Sunday when his Jeep Grand Cherokee ran off the road.

The Jeep drove through a ditch and up an embankment before striking a tree.

It then rolled into a ditch and ended up on its side, according to the patrol.
