Orange County, FL : Dump truck overturns on SR 429 in Apopka Thursday morning, May 7, 2015

An overturned dump truck spilled dirt onto State Road 429 on Thursday morning, blocking the road in northwest Orange County.

The driver was pinned in the truck but was safely removed by emergency responders.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a BMW in front of the truck had mechanical issues, and the driver slowed down instead of pulling over to the shoulder. Troopers said the driver of the dump truck was forced to swerve, and the truck overturned.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The northbound lanes were blocked until just before noon.
