NEW LONDON, CT : 76-year-old woman dies in crash on Gold Star Bridge on Friday, 31st May 2024

A 76-year-old woman from Indiana has died after a crash on the Gold Star Bridge in New London.

State police say a white 2014 Ford Edge driven by a 52-year-old man from Indiana was traveling Southbound with two other passengers on I-95 just south of the Exit 83 on-ramp on the Gold Star Bridge when their car experienced some kind of mechanical failure.

The vehicle then came to a stop within the Southbound lanes of the Gold Star Bridge.

Shortly after the car came to a stop, a cash-in-unit Freightliner owned by Brink’s Incorporated struck the 2014 Ford Edge.
