Nottoway, VA : Betty H. Hamilton, 79, killed and James A. McGinnis, 53, injured in two-vehicle car crash on Lewiston Plank Road in Nottoway County on Friday, Aug 7, 2015

A woman has died as a result of injuries she received after being in a vehicle crash on Friday in Nottoway.

According to police, a 1997 Dodge Ram was traveling south on Lewiston Plank Road when it crossed over into the north bound lanes and struck a 2003 Buick Lasabre head-on.

53-year-old James A. McGinnis from Crewe, Virginia was not wearing a seatbelt and was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 79-year-old Betty H. Hamilton from Burkeville, Virginia was transported to Southside Regional Medical Center and later transported to MCV where she died. Officials said Hamilton was wearing a seatbelt.

No charges have been filed.

Authorities are still investigating this crash.
