Broward County, FL : Man killed in rollover crash on Florida’s Turnpike on Sunday, 4th November 2018

Miami man was killed in an early morning crash Sunday on Florida’s Turnpike in Broward County.

Kevin Lanier Johnson, 47, died after his 1997 Ford Ranger pickup skid along the wet highway, hit two palm trees and rolled over near the exit ramp to Interstate 595, Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Alvaro Feola said.

The truck came to a rest on its roof, leaving Johnson trapped inside.

Davie fire-rescue crews had to cut the truck apart to get to him.

He was pronounced dead at 6:28 a.m.

The accident briefly shut down the northbound ramp to Exit 54 in Davie.

The crash remains under investigation, Feola said.
