Largo, FL : Pedestrian Dies Following Ulmerton Road Crash near U.S. 19 early Thursday morning, January 22, 2015

A woman was critically injured when she was hit by a car while crossing Ulmerton Road near U.S. 19 early Thursday morning in Largo, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.

State troopers responded to the crash about 6:45 a.m. A 2008 Ford Crown Victoria was traveling westbound when it struck a 62-year-old Pinellas Park woman who was not in a crosswalk, according to the FHP. The car is a Signature Car Service vehicle for hire, troopers said. The woman was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where she is in critical condition.

Drivers westbound on Ulmerton were diverted to a single lane after the crash, according to Bay News 9 traffic reports.
