Albuquerque, NM : 1 dead, 1 hospitalized after vehicle collision in Bernalillo County on Sunday, June 22, 2014

Bernalillo County Sheriff's officials say one person has died after two vehicles collided in the North Valley area.

Sheriff's spokesman Aaron Williamson says a SUV north on 2nd Street near Ranchitos Road around 7:30 a.m. was hit by a Chevy pickup while attempting a left turn.

Williamson says the male driver of the SUV died at the scene.

The man driving the pickup was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Williamson says alcohol and speed don't appear to be factors.

Investigators have temporarily closed part of 2nd Street.

The identity of the victim was not released pending notification of next of kin.
