Lehigh Acres, FL : Pregnant woman injured in a single vehicle crash in Lehigh Acres on Sunday evening, February 8, 2015

A pregnant woman was transported to the hospital after a serious crash in Lehigh Acres Sunday evening.

The crash happened just after 7 p.m. at the intersection of Joel Boulevard and David Avenue. The woman was driving a small white truck when she was hit by a silver pickup truck towing a boat, according to a person on scene.

The woman, who is 7 months pregnant, had to be extricated by Lehigh Acres firefighters with the Jaws of Life. She was rushed to Lee Memorial Hospital as a trauma alert.

The driver of the silver pickup truck was issued a citation for careless driving.
