LEE COUNTY, FL : 1 person killed in 5-vehicle crash on I-75 on Wednesday, 26th July 2023

A 25-year-old man was killed in a five-vehicle crash on southbound I-75 at mile marker 136 in Fort Myers Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a semi-truck pulling a flatbed trailer was traveling south in the outside lane of I-75, north of Colonial Boulevard.

At around 3:41 p.m., a semi-truck crashed into the back of a dump truck, causing the dump truck to hit the back of two SUVs. Debris from the crash hit a third SUV.

The semi-truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
