Apopka, FL : Bicyclist hit by car on S.R. 436 near Apopka on Wednesday, March 30, 2016

A bicyclist was hit by a vehicle on S.R. 436 near Apopka around 7 p.m.

Troopers are investigating the crash, which happened near Semoran Boulevard, not far from Wekiwa Springs Road.

Officials said after the crash, the driver drove up S.R. 436 and pulled over. Apopka police witnessed the crash and pulled that driver over.

Minor damage was done to the front passenger side of the vehicle. Police gave the female driver a sobriety test at the scene. Officers then handcuffed the woman and WESH 2 News has learned she was arrested and will face charges for driving under the influence.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

The bicyclist was taken to the hospital with what's been described as non-life-threatening injuries.
