Kansas City, KS : Excelsior Springs man is killed in crash on I-35 just north of Liberty early Saturday, July 16, 2016

An Excelsior Springs man was killed and a Kansas City woman suffered serious injuries in a crash early Saturday near Liberty.

Joseph Chamberlain, 28, died at the scene of the single-car crash about 5:30 a.m. The driver, Nora Evans, 24, was rushed to a hospital. She was listed in critical condition.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said Evans was driving the car north on Interstate 35 just north of Liberty when it veered off the left side of the roadway, then crossed back over the highway and overturned on the right side.

Chamberlain and Evans were thrown from the car. They were not wearing seat belts.
