NEWBERRY, SC : 2 people killed in single-car crash in Newberry County on Saturday, 23rd January 2021

Two people have died in a single-car crash that happened just outside the city of Newberry, officials confirmed.

The wreck happened early Saturday around 1:10 a.m., on Boyd Crossing Road near the Glenn Street Extension, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

A driver going north on Boyd Crossing in a 2013 Nissan Altima ran off the left side of the road and hit a tree, troopers said.

Both the driver and passenger were not wearing seat belts.

They died at the scene.
