One motorist was killed and three others were injured in weekend crashes in Goodhue and Pierce counties.

The fatal accident, a two-vehicle collision north of Zumbrota, forced authorities to close Highway 52 for several hours on Monday.According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Kevin R. Duke, 46, of Kasson, Minn., was northbound on Highway 52 and Jared C. Hjermstad, 21, Wanamingo, was eastbound on Highway 57 crossing Highway 52 when the broadside collision occurred at 11 a.m.

Duke died after his pickup truck went into the ditch on the right, rolled over and he was ejected.
