Sedan, KS : A 44-year-old woman killed Friday in crash near Sedan on July 18, 2014

A 44-year-old woman was killed Friday when her car struck the side of a ditch and flipped on its top on Highway 166, a mile west of Sedan.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said Arlene F. Evans, of Sedan, was driving east on the highway when the 2011 Ford passenger car “came out of curve” and crossed the center line shortly after 8 p.m. The car then traveled off the north side of the road toward the ditch, the highway patrol said in a crash report.

No one else was in the Ford and no other vehicles were involved in the fatal crash, according to the report.

Sedan is in Chautauqua County.
