Madison County, MS : Woman, toddler killed in a three-car wreck on Mississippi 16 near Permenter Road on Thursday night, March 16, 2017
A Philadelphia woman and a two-year-old were killed in a three-car wreck on Mississippi 16 near Permenter Road. The accident happened Thursday night just before 9:30 p.m.
The accident involved a Honda Accord, Chevrolet Equinox, and a Chevrolet Impala.
Preliminary investigation shows that the Honda was traveling east on MS 16 and the Equinox was traveling westbound on MS 16. The Equinox entered the eastbound lane and was struck by the Honda traveling eastbound. The Honda came to rest after impact in the westbound lane of MS 16 and was then struck by the Impala that was traveling westbound on MS 16 as well.
There were three people inside the Honda Accord, the driver identified as Barbara Boler of Philadelphia. A 2-year-old girl was airlifted to UMMC and a 2-year-old boy were also killed on scene. The driver of the Equinox was transported to UMMC with injuries. The driver and the passenger inside the Impala had no injuries.
This accident is still under investigation.
