Henry County, CA : Fatal I-70 crash near mile marker 125 in Henry County on Tuesday, 20th November, 2019
A California man has been identified as the deceased following a Tuesday-morning accident on I-70 near mile marker 125 in Henry County.
Troy K. Lemons, 47, San Mateo, California, was driving eastbound in a red 2008 Dodge Ram with a large trailer in tow, which was loaded with construction equipment. Lemon’s vehicle collided with the rear of a Great Dane box trailer being pulled by a white 2009 Freightliner semi-tractor. The semi-tractor was driven by Abdulrazak H. Nur, 55, of Columbus. Ohio.
After the impact, Lemon’s vehicle became disabled in the right lane and caught fire.
Emergency personnel responded quickly to the scene. The fire from Lemon’s vehicle was quickly extinguished by deputies with the Henry County Sherriff’s Department upon their arrival. The Henry County Sheriff’s Department was joined on scene by the Spiceland Fire Department, Henry County EMS and troopers with the Indiana State Police.
Lemons was pronounced dead at the scene by the Henry County Coroner’s Office. Lemons, as well as two passengers within his vehicle, Harry D. Stout Jr, 33, of El Reno, Oklahoma and Cody C. Callahan, 28, Joplin, Missouri, had to be extricated from the vehicle. Stout and Callahan were then transported to IU Methodist Hospital via ambulance. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Nur was not injured in the crash.
