A Millersville man died in a three-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Millersville, Anne Arundel County police said.
At 8 a.m., officers responded to Veterans Highway and St. Anne Lane for the crash. A Toyota, driven by Elias Matthew Larock, who was later pronounced dead at a hospital, was traveling southbound on Veterans Highway just south St. Anne Lane when it drove onto the right shoulder to pass stopped vehicles, witnesses told police.
Larock, 32, attempted to reenter the line of traffic when he struck a Hyundai, driven by Centerville resident Jason R. Slack, who was also traveling southbound.
After the collision, the Toyota then rotated counterclockwise, crossing the center line and striking a Ford van that was traveling northbound on Veterans Highway, police said. The van came to rest off the roadway and the Toyota came to rest in the roadway.
The driver of the Ford, Robert Hunter Merriman of Crownsville, was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the driver of the Hyundai was not injured.
