Byron, CA : Man injured in two-car crash in Walnut Creek on Sunday, May 15, 2016

The Contra Costa Sheriff's Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash Sunday that sent a man to a trauma center by helicopter, authorities said.

At 3:39 p.m. Sunday, East Contra Costa firefighters received report of a two-car crash at the intersection of Byron Hot Springs and Holey roads, East Contra Costa battalion chief Brian Helmick said.

Firefighters found a man on the ground with major injuries. A Cal-Star medical helicopter took the person to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The man's condition was not available Monday evening.
