Richmond, VA : Driver killed in single-vehicle crash in Amelia County on Saturday, January 21, 2017

Speed is being considered a factor in a crash that killed a driver in Amelia County late Saturday, Virginia State Police said.
The crash happened about 10 p.m. in the 2000 block of Crayton Lane when a westbound 2006 Nissan Murano ran off the road to the left and hit a tree, state police said. The crash scene is about a mile south of Richmond Road near Mannboro.
The driver, Mason A. Barnes, 22, of Amelia Courthouse, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, state police said.
Barnes was the only occupant in the vehicle, state police said.
