A Pocatello woman lost her life in a fiery crash that sent four other people to the hospital early Friday morning.
The wreck happened on south of Pocatello on Forest Service Road 344 near South Fork Mink Creek Road at 2:13 a.m., according to Idaho State Police.
Police say 26-year-old Richard Keifer of Union Gap, Wash was driving in a 1996 Dodge pickup when the vehicle went off the right side of the road. The pickup slammed into a tree and caught fire.
A passenger in the car, 35-year-old Crystal Bigham of Pocatello, died at the scene. Keifer and passengers 27-year-old Rayfield Philpot, 25-year-old Phillip Baldwin, and 27-year-old Cameron Hoffman, all of Pocatello, were taken to Portneuff Medical Center by ambulance.
Everyone in the pickup was wearing a seatbelt, police say. The crash remains under investigation.
