Jacksonville, FL : Driver and two students injured in school bus crash on 103rd Street on the Westside on Tuesday morning, March 31, 2015
A bus driver and two children suffered minor injuries in a school bus crash Tuesday morning on 103rd Street on the Westside, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The bus was stopped in the left lane of 103rd Street at U.S. 17 when a silver Honda, driven by 40-year-old Angelique Phillips, attempted to squeeze between the bus and the curb to get into the left turn lane, according to the FHP report.
The right side of the Honda hit the left rear of the bus, the FHP said.
There were 12 students on the bus. Two of them -- a 7-year-old and an 11-year-old -- were taken to Baptist Health Downtown with minor injuries. The bus driver, 44-year-old Tammy Valenzuela, also suffered minor injuries.
According to the report, Phillips was charged with careless driving.
