MILWAUKEE, WI : One killed in crash near Marquette University on Thursday, 16th August 2018

A man was killed and a woman left in critical condition after an early Thursday morning hit-and-run crash near the Marquette University campus, police said.

First responders were called to the area near North 17th Street and West Highland Avenue just before 4 a.m.Inside what police described as the "victim" vehicle were a 41-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman. Both were taken to a nearby hospital where the man was pronounced dead.

He was identified as Garrett Baublit by a family member.
