Enid,OK : Two injured in 3-vehicle collision on U.S. 412 Monday afternoon.,July 27th 2015
A three-vehicle accident on U.S. 412 left two injured on Monday afternoon.
At 2:02 p.m., the Enid Police Department, Enid Fire Department and Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to an accident at 7700 E. Garriott involving two semi-trailer trucks and a work truck, Enid Police Sgt. Nick John said.
Hurles Anderson was driving a 1997 Kenworth semi-trailer for Spence Trucking east in the inside lane on U.S. 412; Dalton Silver and Quentin Thayer, of Silver Welding in Enid, were in a 2014 Ford F350 pulling a flatbed trailer in the outside lane next to Anderson; Dennis Swartez, in a 2014 Freightliner semi-trailer driving for Central Freightline, Inc., was at the stop sign on 78th, waiting to turn west onto U.S. 412, John said.
Anderson turned across the outside lane to go south on 78th striking Silver and Thayer and pushing them into Swartez’s vehicle.
Silver and Thayer were taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, John said.
Anderson was cited at the scene, John said.
Following the accident, both semi-trailers were pulled out of the ditch on the south side of the highway, but one still blocked the outside eastbound lane, John said, and it was unclear when both eastbound lanes would be reopened.
