Arlington Heights, IL : Two people injured in two-vehicle crash on I-90 Sunday, July 31, 2016

The Hampshire Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle crash with heavy damage at 4:27 p.m. on Sunday, on I-90 at mile marker 34.25 westbound.

According to Hampshire Deputy Fire Chief Trevor Herrmann, one vehicle struck a second vehicle that had broken down and was parked on the inside lane of I-90. The parked vehicle was pushed into the barrier wall and struck a person who was outside of the vehicle. That person was transported to St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, he said.

A second person was also transported to St. Anthony Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Herrmann said. A third person involved was not injured.

"We received mutual aid from Burlington," Herrmann said. "The Illinois State Police Department is investigating."
