Two people were sent to local hospitals Sunday after a woman suspected of driving under the influence crashed into another car in Berks county, according to Hamburg State Police.
Ginny Hartman, 48, was driving south on Route 143, lost control of the car and struck another car head on, according to a police report.
Hartman was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest for significant injuries to her left leg. Police say they believe she was under the influence of prescription drugs.
The driver of the other car, Karen Wandell, 58, suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center.
