Milwaukee, WI : Child struck, killed on Milwaukee's south side on Wednesday, May 21, 2014

A child was struck and killed by a vehicle at Cesar Chavez Drive and Mineral Street at about 3:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Milwaukee police said a 6-year-old boy was killed.

Angel De Jesus was working in the neighborhood. He said he saw the boy walk by him before he died.

"I was the second one there. I grabbed the phone right away and called 911," De Jesus said.

Family friends told WISN 12 News the boy had special needs, and that he and his mother lived in the area.

A southbound Lakeside school bus driven by a 24-year-old Milwaukee woman struck the boy as he was crossing Cesar Chavez Drive, police said.
