LOUISVILLE, KY : Area women die in car crash in Kentucky on Thursday, December, 7th 2017

Two Michigan sisters visiting family in Kentucky died Thursday morning in a car crash in Spencer County near Louisville.

According to a report Friday by TV station WDRB, the Spencer County coroner identified the victims as 76-year-old Donna Jean Root of Jackson and 72-year-old Joanne Lucille Wyman of Adrian.

WDRB reported the two-vehicle crash took place at approximately 11 a.m. on U.S. 31 East near Kentucky state route 523.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a Louisville hospital with unspecified injuries, the news station reported.
