SAN ANTONIO, TX : Elderly man killed when golf cart rolled over on him at course on north side SAPD says on Monday, 18th March 2024

A 72-year-old man was killed when the golf cart he was riding in rolled backwards and tipped over over onto him, police say.

San Antonio Police responded to The Club at Sonterra located in the 900 block of East Sonterra Boulevard around 5:30 p.m. on Monday for reports of a golf cart accident.

When officers arrived at the club, they discovered Robert Andrew Rowton, 72, had been the back passenger on a golf cart that was traveling up a steep hill on the golf cart path when the front of the cart came off the ground, rolled backwards and then tipped over onto him. The person driving the cart and another passenger were both ejected from the cart.
