Waco, TX : I-35 crash victims still in critical condition on Sunday, March 12th 2017
The Texas Department of Public Safety continued Sunday to withhold the name of a 4-year-old Carrollton girl killed Saturday afternoon in a multivehicle collision on Interstate 35 in Elm Mott in which three people were injured.
Sgt. D.L. Wilson said two of the injured were in critical condition, and the other was in serious condition. They had been reported in stable condition Saturday evening after being taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco.
The victims’ cities of residence have not been reported.
One victim was the driver and the other three were passengers in a Kia sport utility vehicle, one of six vehicles involved in the crash.
About 4 p.m., a recreational vehicle towing a car hit the Kia in the southbound lanes of I-35. The line of cars had slowed because of a previous collision.
The lanes remained clogged as vehicles were removed, and the investigation continued until about 10 p.m. Saturday.
No other injuries were reported, Wilson said.
