Lusk, WY : Driver arrested after returning to crash on April, Thursday 20th 2017
A suspected drunken driver might have gotten away hitting two cars early Thursday morning after he fled the scene.
But it was an easy arrest for police when he returned to a nearby parking lot at the Gillette Apartments, nearly hitting another car while he tried to park. His vehicle showed damage consistent with the two that were damaged, said Police Sgt. Jason Marcus.
Gillette police arrested the 22-year-old man on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving under suspension, reckless driving and hit and run, Marcus said.
Two vehicles had been hit on the 200 block of East Boxelder Road shortly after midnight. When officers arrived at about 12:35 a.m. Thursday, they suspected that the same vehicle had hit both cars, Marcus said.
While officers were investigating the hit and run, the man returned. He didn’t get out of his vehicle when asked and he was arrested once officers removed him from his vehicle.
At jail, officers applied for a warrant to have his blood drawn.
