Four people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 20 Friday night, according to Iowa State Patrol crash reports.

The crash occurred at about 7:30 p.m. northeast of Kamrar.

According to the reports, Jerry Epping, 57, of Des Moines, lost control of the Ford Escape he was driving and crashed into a Buick LaCrosse driven by Katie McCallister, 17, of Oyens.

The collision caused McCallister to flip her car and leave the roadway, the Iowa State Patrol reported.

A third vehicle, a Mazda CX9, driven by Verlyn Yoder, 54, of Kalona, struck the Buick LaCrosse on the driver’s side before coming to rest, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

Penni Epping, 54, of Des Moines, Maddi Epping, 23, of Des Moines, and Jessica Epping, 30, of Melcher, were passengers in Jerry Epping’s vehicle.

Jerry Epping, Penni Epping, Maddi Epping, and Jessica Epping, were all transported to Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City.

The Iowa State Patrol, Kamrar EMS, and Van Diest EMS were on scene.
