Titus County, TX : 1 dead, 2 injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 49 near Mt. Pleasant on Sunday night, January 4, 2015

Two people were injured and one person was killed in a Sunday night crash near Mt. Pleasant.

According to DPS, Julio Flores, 29, of Daingerfield, died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 49 at around 11:15 p.m. Justice of the Peace Kay McNutt pronounced him dead at the scene.

A Preliminary crash report stated an SUV, driven by Julio Flores, was headed east on 49 in the left lane when he made an unsafe lane change into the right lane and struck a car traveling in the same direction.. The car left the right side of the road and the SUV drove into a ditch, hit a culvert and flipped. Julio was thrown from the vehicle.

Carolina Flores, 21, of Daingerfield, was identified as the driver of the car. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment and released.

A 3-year-old boy was also a passenger in the SUV. He was taken to a Titus County hospital in serious condition.

Officials could not immediately say if they drivers were related.
