Canton, OH : Canton-area woman dies in camping accident on Sunday, 2nd October 2016
Angela R. Telaroli, 39, who lived in the Canton area, was pronounced dead Sunday after being injured in a camping accident in Ashtabula County.
Telaroli was riding in a golf cart driven by a 10-year-old girl who drove the vehicle into a retaining wall and into Gault Lake, according to a report in the Ashtabula Star Beacon newspaper. The cart landed on its roof, which caused everyone on board to be trapped in the water, also according to the Ashtabula newspaper. The 10-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl who also had been in the cart were able to free themselves, according to the newspaper.
Administrators with the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office were not available Monday evening to provide details on the accident. Likewise, officials with Holiday Camplands in the Andover area of Ashtabula County were not available to comment on the incident.
Telaroli died at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where she had been transported from St. Joseph Emergency and Diagnostic Center in Ashtabula County.
Telaroli is survived by a daughter, Katie Sue Telaroli-Schrekengost; mother, Catherine Telaroli; brother, Anthony Telaroli, all of Canton; sister, Susan Slaton of Malvern and a host of other relatives. Funeral service for Telaroli will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in Canton Township.
