The motorcyclist who was killed in a crash Friday morning on Interstate 635 in Kansas City, Kan., was identified as 22-year-old Stephen L. Bean of Kansas City, Kan.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said Bean was northbound on the highway at 10:45 a.m. when he made a lane change to avoid slower traffic and struck the rear of a pickup truck. The motorcycle then struck the barrier wall in the median, and Bean was ejected.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. The crash temporarily closed all northbound lanes of the highway near Metropolitan Avenue.
