Derry Township ,PA: Jeannette motorcyclist in good condition after crash on Route 22 Sunday ,August 9th 2015

A Jeannette motorcyclist was injured Sunday when a car turned in front of his bike along Route 22 in Derry Township.

Ronald D. Wallace, 59, was airlifted to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following the crash at 3:13 p.m. at West Penn Lane, according to state police at Kiski.

Police said a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Kyle Rhome, 20, of Greensburg, was making a left-hand turn from the eastbound lanes of Route 22 onto West Penn Lane when he crossed into the path of Wallace's 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Wallace was driving west on the highway.

Police said no one in Rhome's vehicle was injured. He received a traffic citation for making an illegal left turn, police said.

Wallace was in good condition Monday, according to a UPMC spokeswoman.
