Louisville , KY : Clark County Sheriff's officer and one women were injured after a traffic crash by another car driver on Monday Night , December 8th 2014
Authorities will not file any charges after a traffic crash injured a Clark County sheriff's officer and the driver of another car.
Officer Scott Johns and a 24-year-old woman from Alabama suffered minor injuries and were treated and released from a Louisville hospital after the crash, said Sellersburg's assistant police chief, Mark Levesque.
"The seat belts and air bags worked," said Clark County Sheriff Brian Meyer.
It happened about 7 p.m. Monday when the woman pulled onto U.S. 31 North from Perry Crossing Road. The officer, who was responding to another accident call with lights, siren and other emergency equipment activated, struck the woman's car, Levesque said.
"There were barely any skid marks," Meyer said, adding that Ofc. Johns had little time to brake or maneuver to avoid the collision.
Investigators do not suspect any drug or alcohol use and will file no charges in the case, Levesque said.
Earlier Monday evening, Sellersburg police chief Russ Whelan was slightly injured in a rear-end collision on County Road 311 near Interstate 65.
