MESA, AZ : Eastbound Loop 202 Red Mountain in Mesa reopens after crash on Tuesday, 14th May 2024

A major freeway in north Mesa is back open after a car crash on Tuesday evening.

It happened on the eastbound side of the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway near Gilbert Road just after 6 p.m.

All lanes on that side of the freeway were closed at Gilbert Road until they opened hours later, just before 9:30 p.m.

The westbound lanes were unaffected.

It’s unclear what led up to the crash or if anyone was injured.
