Largo, FL : Clearwater Fire and Rescue vehicle overturns in collision on Saturday, December 26, 2015

A Clearwater Fire and Rescue sport-utility vehicle en route to a fire on Clearwater Beach collided with another vehicle on Saturday and flipped over at the intersection where East Bay Drive turns to West Bay Drive and Missouri Avenue N turns into Seminole Boulevard.

The driver of the fire vehicle, Clearwater Fire Rescue Assistant fire Marshal Ron Neuberger, was responding to the emergency with his vehicle's lights and sirens before the collision, according to Clearwater officials.

The firefighter was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

The kitchen fire he was responding to at the Gulf View Hotel at 625 S Gulfview Blvd. was put out in minutes, according to officials.

There were no injuries from the fire. Two people were hit by breaking glass but declined medical treatment.
