A North Charleston police officer has been transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries after authorities say a fugitive crashed his car into the officer's patrol vehicle Thursday night.
The westbound lanes of Rivers Avenue in the area of I-526 have been shut down as crews work the scene.
According to Spencer Pryor with North Charleston police, at about 9 p.m., officers working with the US Marshal's Task Force attempted to make contact with a wanted suspect in the area of Montague and Rivers avenues.
