One person was injured and taken to the hospital just before midnight Tuesday in the Santa Clarita Valley following a head-on crash in Stevenson Ranch, according to emergency response officials and at least one witness.
Paramedics were dispatched to a traffic collision on The Old Road where McBean Parkway becomes Stevenson Ranch Parkway at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday, said Fire Department spokesman Humberto Agurcia.
“We received the call as a two-vehicle traffic collision,” he said.
“Our first unit arrived on scene at three minutes after midnight,” he said. “We transported one patient to a local area trauma center.”
Emergency crews cleared the scene about 38 minutes after midnight, Agurcia said.
According to one Stevenson Ranch resident who was, he said, driving past the crash seconds after it happened, the two cars sustained extensive front end damage.
“This looked like a head-on crash,” said the man. “There were a lot of police there, CHP (California Highway Patrol) and (Santa Clarita Valley) sheriff’s deputies.
