A 92-year-old woman was seriously hurt and another woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Park Avenue Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the 59-year-old driver of a 2007 Buick was taken to a local hospital for treatment of neck and chest pain. Her 92-year-old passenger suffered a serious leg injury and was also taken to a local hospital.
According to police, the women were heading north on Park Avenue near Lovell Street around 2 p.m. when the driver of a 2003 Jeep Cherokee, a 45-year-old Saybrook, Connecticut, woman who was also traveling north,
failed to yield to adjacent traffic when attempting to change lanes as the cars approached a construction site.

zone before coming to rest in the middle of Park Avenue.
