New Castle, DE: Del. driver dies of crash injuries on Saturday, July 25th 2015

A 42-year-old motorist has died of injuries sustained in a crash in New Castle, Delaware State Police said Saturday.Rodolfo Espinal-Vargas, of New Castle, was driving a 1994 Honda Accord about 9:30 p.m. on July 18 on New Castle Avenue when he swerved right to avoid a tow truck that had stopped in front of him to make a left turn onto Pyles Lane, police said.Espinal-Vargas was driving south on New Castle Road, also called State Route 9, and he struck the right rear of the tow truck, police said.The driver of the truck, Lucindo Aparicio, 48, was wearing a seat belt and was unhurt, police said, police said. Espinal-Vargas was not belted and had to be extricated from the Accord before he was taken to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center in Newark, police said.Espinal-Vargas was pronounced dead Wednesday, police said. The crash, which occurred between Rogers Road and Interstate 495, remained under investigation by state police.
