FOUR CORNERS, FL : Child dies in Florida street racing crash on Friday, 2nd April 2021

Two street racers caused a crash that killed an 11-year-old girl on Friday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers responded to the crash near US 192 and Secret Lake Drive in Four Corners just after 11 p.m. A 17-year-old driving a Dodge Charger and a 19-year-old driving a Kia Optima were racing down the street when the Charger failed to slow down and slammed into the back of a Toyota Rav4.

The Dodge skidded off the road and hit a speed limit sign. The Toyota collided with a media sign, and the Kia was hit by debris.

An 11-year-old girl, a 35-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman were inside of the Toyota. All three were taken to the hospital where the child died. The women are in serious condition.
