Odessan critically injured following collision on June, Tuesday 13th 2017

An Odessan suffered critical injuries this morning when he reportedly steered his car into a traffic signal pole while trying to make a right turn onto Yukon Road.
Thomas Overbey, 60, was heading north in his 2012 Chevrolet Impala on Andrews Highway at about 7:49 a.m. and collided into the pole. Overbey was trying to turn eastbound onto Yukon Road, the Odessa Police Department reported.
Overbey was not wearing a seat belt and speed played a role in the collision, the OPD said. But OPD spokesman Cpl. Steve LeSueur said Overbey’s exact traveling speed was under investigation.
Overbey was taken to Medical Center Hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries. MCH spokeswoman Rhonda Lewallen said today he was in critical condition.
