A 43-year-old Meigs County woman was killed when her car struck a tractor-trailer Tuesday in Roane County, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Authorities said Jackquinetta Luffman of Ten Mile, Tenn., was traveling north in her 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse on state Highway 58 when her car crossed the centerline and entered the southbound lane directly in the path of a tractor-trailer driven by 38-year-old Brian Ristau of Lavergne, Tenn.
The two vehicles collided head-on. Luffman's vehicle came to rest in the northbound lane, while the tractor-trailer left the road and came to rest partially in the southbound lane.
Luffman wore a seat belt, as did Ristau, who was not injured in the crash.
