DECATUR, IL : Driver and two passengers ejected in rollover crash on Sunday, June 4, 2017

A Decatur driver and two of his passengers were thrown out of their sport utility vehicle Sunday morning when it crashed and overturned on Interstate 72 in Sangamon County, according to Illinois State Police.

Police say the accident happened at 10:09 a.m and driver Adam Martin was accompanied by Melissa M. Martin, 32, and children age 8 and 3. It was not clear from the written police reports which of the passengers had been thrown from the vehicle with the driver. Police said the driver and all three passengers escaped the crash with non life-threatening injuries and were all taken to HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Police say the accident happened when the westbound vehicle had drifted to the right, the driver overcorrected and back to the left before driving off the road and into the median and overturning. Charges are pending.
